Dear Faithful Prayer Partners and Financial Supporters,
Greetings from Togo.
We would like to take a moment to give you an update.
As many of you already know, we made it back safely to Togo on July 1st. On the third, we visited Eglise Baptiste Biblique Salem of Kove. A few believers came to the prayer meeting. All of the orphans were also present. We had a good time with them and were encouraged to see them all.
On July 7 and 10, we were at our first church in Tamany. During that week, Samuel began to feel sick and spent most of the time in his room, and desired to go back to the US. But when on Friday I suddenly became very sick, we sought medical treatment at the clinic of our local family doctor on Saturday. Many blood tests were done but none of us had malaria. We spent the first two days going back and forth to the clinic but on Monday we were hospitalized. On Thursday, July 12, we were released and continued with oral medication at home. Samuel recovered faster than I did. The doctor gave me one month of rest and urged me earnestly to slowly get back to full speed. I am so grateful to God that Elisabeth was not sick and was able to take care of us.
Thank you so much for all your prayers. After our recovery, we moved on to do VBS in August as usual.
From Wednesday August 21st to 23rd, we had VBS in the church of Tamany. A total of 220 children and adolescents were impacted. On Sunday August 25th, we had the children’s special day. Two hundred and two children showed up. This time, one of the teenagers preached his first sermon. His message was from 1 Samuel chap. 1-5. The children were reminded to be obedient to their parents and the parents to raise their children in the way they should go because tomorrow is coming…….!!!. Dear supporters, as I see lot of potential in this teen, please pray for him that God will use him. He is one of the orphans in the church of Tamany and was saved in 2016. During the week, 15 children and adolescents trusted Christ as their Lord and Savior. What a blessing!
We are moving on with the building project and still working toward the complete finish of phase one. The metal doors are all fixed now, and electrical wiring phase one will soon begin. More funds may be needed.
