Dear Partners in the Lord:
Putting God in a Box. Now and then I see this happen to those who have a desire to do God’s work but do not count the cost. They often have a skewed misunderstanding of FAITH. When a man is at the end of his extremities he has come to the beginning of God’s opportunity. Hebrews 11:6 truly is a necessity, but one must count the cost. You don’t go out to purchase something before you have discerned how YOU are going to pay for it. I hear the voice say, “God will provide it!” When the time comes to make the first payment and there are no funds to do it, then what? Did God let you down? I don’t think so. You did not count the cost! You have put God in a box. I have seen God send in several thousand dollars through his people and I didn’t know why until several weeks later. Then something happened and the funds were there to meet the need. When Mission Central was purchased, I didn’t see how it could be done. God brought a Christian brother into the picture, and he said he would purchase the building for us. He encouraged us to seek a mortgage and I said, “I thought you were going to take care of the cost.” He said to see what a bank might do, and the Lord sent a Christian banker to us and he evaluated the Mission finances and said he would give us the money ($225,000). I asked the banker if we could have an open-end amount to give God’s people the opportunity to donate to this project. Over $100,000 came in for the project and in four years, the building was paid for.
National Pastors’ Training Development Conference (NPTDC). Please be in prayer for Pastor Edelfonso Cruz from the Philippines and Pastor Vijay K. Polimetla from India, as they come to the USA with their concerns for ministry. Pray that they will be a blessing to all their contacts. Pray that many will partner with them as they travel to churches (35+ combined) to present their ministries and needs. These men love the Lord and serve our Heavenly Father in difficult places to reach people with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ!
The Challenges Ahead. Like most of us in the world today, we are facing many financial challenges. It would seem like most politicians have lost all common sense. There are just so many times you can go to the well before it runs dry. Inflation is being seen in missions. Costs are soaring, the needs are greater, and the cry for help is roaring. We need to be reminded that each one of us have the command to reach out to the lost with the Gospel of Christ and to help the brethren. The problem is, we have trapped ourselves in the cares of self-satisfaction and not in the things of God. The question needs to be asked, “Are we really what we claim to be?” The day of reckoning is just around the corner. Jesus is coming for His bride!
Our Mission Council will be meeting on September 12th and it is a very important meeting. We will be counting the cost of moving forward for His Glory. These men need our prayers for wisdom to make the right decisions.
Newharts’ Forecast. Nancy and I are doing well and enjoying our journey together. The Lord truly becomes sweeter as the days go by and provides the strength for every moment. We look forward to being with the two men coming and helping them to have a safe and successful journey here in the US. A trip to Grenada with our new director is being set up the day after the two national church planter pastors exit the U.S. Nancy and I are expecting to travel to supporters, missionaries with IGM, and churches in the month of November here in the U.S.
Thank you from the depth of our being for your prayers and financial support. Without those two commitments, we would not be able to serve until Jesus comes!
Sincerely, In His Unconditional Love,
Gary and Nancy Newhart
