Dear Partners in Ministry,

Warm Christian greetings from Jamaica.

While celebration might not be the first word that begins with the letter ‘C’ that comes to mind when describing 2020, we have every reason to rejoice. Thanks to the Lord for His providence and provision in our ministry and personal lives. The COVID-19 pandemic has introduced us to the ‘new norms’ of life and we have had to be making adjustments almost daily to keep up with the changes.

CARE PACKAGE MINISTRY

With your help and that of partnering churches and individuals, we brought hope in the midst of crisis through the provision of care packages to over 300 poor and vulnerable individuals who reside in the communities and environs in which our ministries are located. As the Lord provides, we try to engage in this as a quarterly ministry. This is but one of the ways in which God expanded our ministry of service and we give thanks that He has counted us worthy to work for His glory and the good of our fellowmen.

Amidst COVID-19, the Lord has been faithful to us in so many, many ways. More and more, we have come to appreciate that God often works in ways that humans cannot comprehend. We have so many success stories to support this truth.

NEW MINISTRY

As a part of our new service to the community of Spice Grove, the church is being used for online classes for the children and young people in the area. As you might be aware, face-to-face classes have been suspended as a result of the pandemic.

CHURCH SERVICES & COVID-19

Church services have been both physical (with limited numbers, based on the national COVID-19 protocols) and online (utilizing the Facebook and Zoom platforms). The online modalities have expanded our reach nationally and regionally as well as internationally. We thank God for this expanded reach.

Our Sunday school and local women’s ministry have been severely impacted. We have plans in place to commence these activities virtually in April 2021. Please pray with us in this regard. Activities such as evangelistic outreach and visitation have had to be put on hold. However, we were still afforded the privilege to do our annual ministry to mothers at the Black River Hospital on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

NOTES of PRAISE

Spice Grove saw the addition of another man to the membership. He had been a back-slider for many, many years. Please pray for his spiritual growth and maturity.

Prayer Requests

  1. Reduction in covid-19 cases and deaths
  2. Funds to complete the building at Spice Grove
  3. Funds to acquire the four bed-room house (adjoining our home and close to the Providence Baptist Church) which is now up for sale. We have long been praying to be able to acquire same as it could be used as housing for ministry teams as well as other church-related outreach activities.
  4. The salvation of youths and men.
