“Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.” (Psalm 115: 1)
Dear Brethren,
Warm Christian greetings to you. Jeremy Taylor says, “We are safer in a storm with God than anywhere else without Him.” Let us thank God for being in the storms with us and for giving us the assistance needed to survive them.
I don’t have enough words to tell you how grateful I am for your constant financial and prayerful support. Your support has helped to lighten the burdens that we encounter each day on the journey of the ministry here in Trinidad and Tobago. I thank God for your faithfulness to Him and the love you have for the ministry. I will continue to praise God for you.
Ministry Update
Our church is currently using a combination of online and “in-person” meetings to conduct services. The Sunday worship is held in the church building but Bible study and prayer meeting are strictly via Zoom. The attendance of worship service was seriously affected by the difficulties associated with the pandemic but since a few weeks ago, we have seen a steady increase. Thankfully, we have not had any of our members testing positive for Covid-19 thus far. The church has experienced a significant fall in its income during the lockdown but some of our members remained faithful in giving financially. We are praying that as we continue to experience this current crisis, the Lord will open new doors of opportunities for our members in order for them to continue in the ministry of giving.
Currently, at least two young men are being prepared for water baptism. This baptismal service is scheduled for May 2, 2021. I praise God for the way He is using us in His ministry. Presently, the Lord is using us to connect with people who would not normally attend our church activities. As soon as the restrictions of the pandemic are lifted, we want to launch our Good News Clubs and other outreach ministries. We will continue to do our best under the prevailing circumstances.
Health Update
To God be the glory great things, He hath done. Praise the Lord, my eyes are still doing okay. Presently, my wife, Dorothy, is suffering serious pains from stones she has in her gallbladder. She has had this problem for a few years now but recently, it has gotten worse. The doctors told us that surgery must be done very soon. The cost for this surgery is US $4800.00. Please pray that the Lord will provide for us so that the removal of the stones can be done as soon as possible.
Other Prayer Requests
- Continue to pray for the new converts who are being prepared for water baptism.
- Pray for the members of the church who are dealing with financial and health challenges.
- Please pray for our son, Shanan, who is facing some challenges.
- Pray that God will give us wisdom in managing changes brought about by the pandemic.
My prayer is that Almighty God continues to provide and protect you.
Yours in the Service of Jesus Christ,
Garnet Samuels (Pastor)
