Update: 5/21/2019 Perla was to have surgery on her arm that was expected to last 4 – 6 hours.
Hi. Thank you for your prayers! I consider them what keeps us up and going.
At the present, this is the latest I have heard:
Estrellita (Star), who is 2 years and 8 months old, is still in the hospital but is doing much better. After her appendicitis she has not needed any more surgery. She has a broken knee and a broken ankle. Her mom’s sister is with her, along with Ginger and Andres, who will be caring for her for six months or so while she recovers from the accident. After that, she will be taken down to her grandmothers who will, between each of them, take care of her or decide who will do so.
Perla is 19. The last I heard is that she is recovering well. It is going to take a while but she is making good progress. The doctor said she will be in the hospital for a week or so. Perla had her liver rebuilt or something like that. She also has a broken arm and leg and a bad gash on her eyebrow.
