Dear Brethren,

I humbly greet all of you in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I write to you from the Mathare slums in Nairobi, Kenya. I thank you for standing with us in prayer and financial support.

I’m happy to report that our Lord Jesus Christ has been gracious to us in all ways since the demolition of our church building five months ago in Nairobi.

Towards the end of August 2024, we had our National Convention which lasted six days and was very successful. I want to add that many believers from Nairobi and the Ndori pastorate contributed to the success of the convention which brought our churches together.

The main theme was from Mark 16:15-16:  “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”

I’m a witness that many turned their lives to Christ, our Lord and Savior, during the convention days. After the convention, which was hosted by Ndori Gospel Baptist Church, was over, the people from other churches travelled back home.

In Nairobi where I pastor the Gospel Baptist Church in the Mathare slums, we are recovering from the demolition which happened in May and June of this year. We are happy and thank God for His greatness. He gave us a new place of worship not very far from where our church was before the demolition.

The place is temporarily leased for one year. We’re praying to the Lord to open doors in the future and give us our own place of worship again where we will not be paying rent on a monthly basis.

Kindly do pray for the pastors we have here as they continue to serve the Lord by faith.

Pray also for the orphans and widows in our care.

To all of you, every blessing.

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Pastor John Olang’o Orinda
