Jambo-hello!
Philippians 1:3-5
“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;”
In our last letter, we requested prayers for the teams that had planned to come serve with us. Thank you for praying. Some of them will not be able to come this year but the team from Cornerstone Baptist Church in Morton, Illinois, was able to visit us from June 2nd to June 9th. There were 24 people on the team. God enabled them to do many things. They were a great blessing to us and our people. Some of the things they did were painting the school dining hall and kitchen, taught VBS to the students, playing with the children, and interacting with both the students and staff. The team sang at our church and Pastor Jonathan, the team leader, preached during the 2 services and officiated the Lord’s Table. Together we distributed much-needed food to 32 families and held the mid-week prayer meeting with the cell groups. The team was a huge blessing. Through the team, God also provided the funds to put on the tabletops and the tiles in the dining hall and kitchen. Now the students have a nice place where they can eat their meals without fighting the baboons. We did visit our neighbors in the park in our capital, Nairobi. We felt very much encouraged by the team’s visit.
A very special thing happened. Lizzy, one of the girls on the team, trusted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Please pray that she will grow in her faith.
All the other ministries are going on well. On June 25th, Paul dedicated one of the church buildings and laid the foundation stone on another one. People are giving their lives to the Lord and growing in their faith.
Family News!
Our daughter, Ruth, and son-in-law, Stephen, were expecting their second child in July but just like the Bible says that God’s ways are not our ways and neither His thoughts our thoughts, when they went to the doctor, they were told that she needed to have a C-section. That was about 3 weeks before the due date. On June 25th, they were blessed with a baby boy, Zefania Manyara Kasali. We are all very grateful to the Lord for the safe arrival. We are in Atlanta, Georgia. We arrived on Wednesday, June 28 to see our grandson and to help. Our daughter, Miriam, and son, Paul Junior, plan to come sometime in July, Lord willing. It will be nice to be together again.
Please pray for Paul Jr. as he is looking for a job.
Thank you all so much for your love, prayers and financial support.
May the Lord continue to bless you.
Serving Together,
Paul and Leah
