DEAR FRIENDS,
1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
We mentioned in our previous newsletter concerning the school year. This academic year 2022-2023 ended Thursday, June 22nd with some activities with the children of first grade to fifth grades. It was a time of rejoicing, reciting Bible verses, drama, singing, a picnic, and praises to the Lord. The church singers had a part in these closing school activities. We had a huge rain that morning, but the children were able to come, and their parents joined us at 2PM and everything ended around 5PM. By the way, we are in the rainy season in Kara. Therefore, we took this opportunity to talk to the parents about how to take care of the children and help them during this break time. Pastor Paul closed the activities in prayer.
There will be teen and youth camps this year in a town called Kpalime in the South-West of the country. This camp will be held from August 10th to 13th and from there, we will be going to all-church conferences in Lome, the capital town, from August 18th to 20th. We will be coming back to Kara on August 21st if the Lord permits. The trip to these places will be expensive. Please, pray with us that the Lord may provide for it and for safety. We will have about 26 youth and adults from our church, Temple Shalom church, going; among them will be about twelve of our orphans. We praise the Lord for the life of these orphans who are getting saved and getting serious with the Lord and are getting interested in spiritual things. I am greatly involved in this camp this year 2023. I will be on the roads a lot from the month of July to August and from October to November. Continue praying for us for all the preparations going on. People will be coming from all over the country, from 3 other countries in Africa, and from the USA.
We are really thankful to the Lord for His provision for the orphans. We are helping them with their schooling and for other needs through the gifts of faithful donors as you are, and we are very thankful. Last Sunday, we gave some food to them as usual. Some of you, we know, will meet some of these children one day because some will visit us in the near future by God’s grace. I was full of joy and gratitude to the Lord when two of our orphan girls told me last Sunday after the morning service that they wanted to join the church choir. The Lord is doing a great work in our orphans’ life. Please, rejoice with us, knowing that the Lord is answering your prayers and that your sacrificial gifts are producing fruits and your efforts are not in vain. Philippians 2:16, “Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.”
We ask you to continue praying for our financial needs. We know that all over the world, things are getting tough. Our support has been decreasing recently. All our projects for the ministry are also getting behind because of lack of funds. Please continue praying for us regarding this and for the Lord to provide. Our Lord is capable of opening doors to cover all these project needs and our personal needs.
Our sincere thanks to you all and may the Lord continue blessing each one of you greatly.
In the Service of the King of Kings,
Pastor Paul & Nicole ASSIGNON
