Janice Springer’s Prayer Letter

August 2022

Dear Friends,

I am writing this as we near the end of July, the month we celebrate our independence.   So many times, during this month I have been reminded how blessed we are to live in America.  Though many freedoms have been taken, we still have the freedom to worship our Lord and Savior.  Though I still have problems with mobility, I am still active in most of our church services and activities.  I use a cane when I am out and almost constantly, I ask the Lord to keep me from falling and praise Him for answered prayers.  I have a small flower area, and with the help of two grandchildren I can maintain it, which brings me much joy.

Last month my daughter Lonna from North Carolina and granddaughter Melissa from Virginia were able to be with me for a week.  It was a true blessing and comfort to me.  They came at the time that would have been daughter Janna’s 60th birthday.  It was a sad day in some ways, but how we rejoice that she is with her Lord and Savior and her dad and son.  How I miss them, but God is my comfort.

I recently found out that I need to be on oxygen part time, particularly when I am physically exerting myself.  I was diagnosed with COPD several years ago and have been able to maintain until now.  This will be a new path to walk, and I know the Lord will walk it with me.  It is my prayer that I will avail myself of God’s grace as things change in my life.  Lon was a good example as he was not one to complain when he had to slow down.

I thank you dear friends who have been by my side since Lon’s passing to heaven; and for standing with both of us for many years before that.  Your love, prayers and support have helped me to carry on.  I pray for you by name daily.  God bless you and repay you for your help and love to others such as me.

With much love and a very thankful heart,

Janice Springer
