Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Lord,
We are so grateful for each one of you! We pray for you, that God will richly bless each of you in Jesus’ name. I like what Apostle Paul said to the Philippine church: and my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We are so thankful for your prayers and friendship over the years: to our God and Father be glory forever and ever!
I am writing this letter with sadness in my heart. God knows all things, and we trust in Him alone. Seaside Community Baptist Church has closed. After much prayer and petition to the Lord, we decided that this was the best way to go. The membership was down to about ten people, including the leadership. The enemy used divisive tactics and no matter what steps that were taken, including mediators, unity was not achieved. It is sad, but we know that God has a plan and is still working to reach all people here in Nova Scotia.
So, what about Elise and I? Well, we decided to sell our house so we can down size. We no longer need three bedrooms and all of the other space that has to be heated through the winter. We have a Christian realtor who is taking care of us. We want to stay in this community, though, or not far from it. She showed us a small house with two bedrooms which would be perfect for us. We are praying about this new adventure! We remember Proverbs 3: 5-6. We want to trust in the Lord, who is the living God who has taken care of us these twenty-five plus years in Nova Scotia. We know that He will continue to do the same in the future, Jeremiah 29:11. We are asking the Lord to lead us to a ministry with another local church. I am sure of two things: 1. I can trust in Him 2. He has a plan for us! Please do pray for us to know God’s will concerning these things.
I lead the services for a family whose mother passed away during the summer. Most of the family still do not know the Lord yet, even though I have shared with them repeatedly. This time, I actually wrote the Gospel presentation out in the oldest son’s journal so he can read it over and over. We pray for the Lord to open their eyes, what a day that will be!
Thank you for being our prayer warriors, who love to pray and seek God’s heart! We love each one of you and want you to see our gratitude. Philippians expresses our feeling very well: I thank my God in all my remembrances of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy because of your partnership the Gospel…..
With much love, in His service,
Ben and Elise
